The Most Excellent Women
A group of small-scale women entrepreneurs in Enugu State Nigeria, has been in existence since 2018, led by the Regional Director- Mrs. Humble Mbaeri. They meet monthly for training, mentorship, and networking. In 2020, they were asked to share their goals for the year; the Regional Director reported their excitement about the future and reflects on what they learned from previous trainings.
The Seamstress
A seamstress improved her shop by using a microloan on zero interest from MESE to buy colorful linings in bulk. In the past, she would only use the money given to her by clients to purchase the items for them or have them purchase it themselves and bring it to her to sew. However, with this new opportunity, she was able to offer better services to her clients and increase her profits.
The Food Seller
During her training with MESE, this food seller took out a microloan and successfully increased her profit. She was also one of two women who opened a bank account for the first time in 2019. This was a big milestone that marked a new chapter in their lives.
