Dr. Ezenwayi Amaechi is a social entrepreneur with years of experience in corporate, teaching, research, and consulting with domestic and international organizations. She is also a professor of Entrepreneurship and the Entrepreneurship Center Faculty Consultant at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. After her research findings revealed that small-scale women entrepreneurs in Enugu State, Nigeria needed training to grow their businesses (based on her Doctorate research that focused on economic barriers to women entrepreneurs), Dr. Ezenwayi made it her mission to alleviate poverty by adopting a holistic design approach that considers the emotional, spiritual, physical, and social wellbeing of women entrepreneurs and youth in developing nations.
